As I've been returning to my first love, I started thinking about the Keiths music, how I saw him in concert as a teen and the next summer he was gone, and i went to his memorial service and have never again experienced such honest praise and worship.
Now so many years later, I have begun to learn about the Jewish roots of Christianity and the importance of the Torah. I'm not suprised to find that Keith and Melody are of Jewish descent and the annointing on their ministry is an answer of Gods call to the Jews to be a light to the nations!
This article written by Keith more than 20 years ago is so relevant today. I was tired of prosperity doctrine and want to learn what God requires of me! Praise God for His law which brings us to repentance and understanding of holiness and grace.

I so appreciate the truth that blesses and draws people to Jesus and our Heavenly Father. I praise God for not just Keith and his past ministry but Melody's faithfulness and her childrens and all the staff for so many years. Some come and others go, retirement from the gosple like it is something to retire from. May this ministry follow Gods desire and do as He wished for them and their life be as long as He wills the ministry to be. I do appreciate Keith and his ministry and it was many years ago as a young man that I first heard Keith, may we not imortalize him but rather the message and give room for those who have labored on in faithfulness all these years.

As I agree with the over all concept of what you say, let us not sway off onto another path by twisting scripture to this, thus you are doing exactly what you are teaching against, a self-centered self-serving Doctrine. God nor Christ said we are to be "perfect" because we cannot. We are sinners saved by Grace, thus we are not perfect nor ever will be until we are in Heaven if we fight the good fight of faith and finish the race. We are seen righteous before God's eyes because of the righteousness of Christ. So to imply that we are to be perfect is misleading for in context Christ was speaking for us to imitate the Fathers Kindness and love, not be perfect in our life because this is impossible for man to do. We are to strive to be Holy, sanctification is a daily walk and process. We all fall short of the glory as Paul said, thus let us not think to highly of ourselves.

None the less, very good word and needs to be taught and preached in every pulpit.

Another part of the gospel that is the very core and heart of all Christs teachings is love and humility. So often as christians we get trapped in the law and through our own eagerness to be without sin we become arogant thinking that we have somehow become sin free and the spirit in which we view others loses the very ingredient that bring life to our words and attempts to reach others. Without love we bring harm to those seeking help, seeking the truth. What they often feel from christians is interpreted as hate, intollerrence. As Christians we are responsible for how we live, how we treat others and how we represent Christ and the Gospel. You might say "No this isn't me"! Take a personal inventory and check your heart. Listen to the unsaved and ask about their experiences with Christians. I have heard so many that have been turned off of the gospel and decided that they want nothing to do with Jesus if he is anything like those Christians. If you would like a tip that helped me, remeber that love is not a noun, it is a verb. You cannot say that you have loved somebody if it was not an action toward them. Help us lord to never forget where we came from and help us to be vessells of your love reflecting Grace, mercy and compassion.

I'm from Brazil and i'm here to say that this is THE TRUTH!
I needed to see, hear or read something about this...
When I was reading this text, my doubts became replies and came the confirmation that what is preached in my church is crazy but is TRUE.
Looking the Christianity has been preached nowadays, the mainstream churches, preachers, Evangelists, pastors and ministers is disappointing see the situation we find ourselves, as one who truly knows God, His character, His personality and His nature is able to distinguish truth from lie, but for
almost all preach the lie, or "half truth" many of us have believed this lie, and made ??it the truth.
Christianity is the cross. Cross is resigns. Resigns is love. And love is salvation!

This should be read by every Christian today. it's amazing how every word he says is more relevant in the last days as I do believe we are in the end times and it should be read by every Pastor, believer, minister or evangelist. thank you Heavenly Father for the gift you gave us in Keith. His music and his writing have taught me to live a closer walk with Our Savior.

Concerning the "two-edged sword", one side is the goodness God offers to the sinner and the other side the severity of God? Is this out of context?

Leslie Burris (Guest) (03/21/2013 09:24)

Amen!
There are many words that could be said, but none reaches the depth of God's amazing word! The gospel is either a sweet smelling aroma or the stinch of death to each one of us. We choose to believe and accept these teachings or not; no in between. There is no darkness in truth and the Christian should remain walking in the light or will eventually stray completely away from His Grace.

I have gone through many challenges as a Christian and each has made me more appreciative of the truth and incredible patience of our Father. I am a sinner and my righteous acts are like filthy rags! Nothing we do can earn the love of God. However, I am in agreement of Keith's convictions.... in many ways his music has given me a greater depth of conviction to sin and righteousness.
Honestly, I am grateful for Keith's music as it has given me a kick in the pants and encouragement to continue in Christ at many pivotal moments.

I love Jesus and I look forward to spending eternity with Him and all my brothers and sisters. Even today as I listen to Keith's music, I am re-energized to share the gospel with others and my life as well; (1 Thess. 2:8) "We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us."
May we all be in AWE of our AMAZING GOD!!
