Still Speaking after 31 Years in Heaven

Share Your Memories of Keith Green

Keith Green FB Share Your Memo
We want to give everyone an opportunity to share their memories of how Jesus used Keith to impact their life.  And gather all the stories in one place for everyone to enjoy.

Keith sure impacted my life.  After Jesus, he was my biggest influence.  Keith modeled giving everything to Jesus, not wanting celebrity, caring for the poor, taking people off the streets, and reaching into prisons.  We did that from the start together.

I would love to know what your story is.  How did Keith impact your life?  Were you at a concert?  Was it through the music?  Are you in ministry?  On the mission field?

How did Keith impact you, and what are you doing now that you think you might not be doing — if not for his influence?

Please share your story in the comment section below.

I’ll start!

I had a friend who got saved at one of Keith's concerts, and that is how I first heard about him. When his biography came out in '89, I read it cover to cover in about two days and it really moved me. I don't know all of Keith's songs, but I can always recognize his voice on the radio. Those who love the Lord never say goodbye for the last time.

I was saved in 1977 Like everyone I was a rocker, when I heard Keith the first time . I fell in love with jesus more , the conviction he had in his words, would cut right to the soul.Jesus lived in his heart and Keith wanted everyone to have the same. One day I will see Jesus and I will get to meet my brother Keith also .If I play keith's music He still speak's. It's all about Jesus.

I became a Christian in 1980 through the Agape Force Northwest. I was introduced to Keith Green by the teams who were stationed in Tacoma. His music and his testimony are still strengths in my life. I have had many times in my walk with Jesus where I get discouraged and empty, many times I have looked up Keith Green and played his music over and over and allowed it to encourage me and draw me back to my first love with our amazing God. Today I am a part of the worship team in our church which reaches out to the homeless, addicts, prisoners and other hurting people in Tacoma Washington.

Keith impacted me by his boldness in sharing the Gosple, his love for the lost, and his love for the church.
His music still impacts my life. I've done several of his songs in church. He never sugar coated anything when it came to our Lord.
I wish more people would listen to his music.

I was born again in 1976, unfortunately I did not hear about Keith til after he passed on, but his music and his testimony still impact me to this day. His zeal and passion to walk the walk according to the New Testament example has constantly inspired me. I always regret never being able to actually be under the teachings of LDM but I have distributed 1000s of LDM tracts for the exhortation of the body and will have Keith one of the dedicated people in my Keith style book; 31 Gems.

I discovered Keith the day I heard of his death. I was listening to the radio and they played The 23rd Psalm...the most beautiful song I had ever heard...I was overwhelmed...after the song, the announcer said "That was the late Keith Green." Through the years I've collected almost everything he did, also everything about abortion. No music speaks to your heart and spirit like his. His music will always be my family's and my favorite, there's nothing like it. I know this is suppose to be about Keith but, Melody, there is nothing like the music you have written, also all of the wonderful things you have done to save baby's lives. Yes, Keith is still speaking. Thank you both.

Keith's music has been and continues to be a beacon in the darkness. When I need a Truth infusion, I go two places - God's Word & the music of his servant Keith. In the day to day shades of gray it is comforting to know that I can pull out an album and have my heart awakened and the world shaken from my spirit. Thank you Father!

I was never able to see Keith live but his music has touched me in so many ways. When I crashed in my life in 1992 and began the process of recovery his song,The Prodigal Son Suite brought me to tears every time I listened to it. I felt like I was the prodigal son returning to God. Today I lead Celebrate Recovery in Calgary Canada and play his Prodigal Son Suite to the people there. Thanks to Keith for his wonderful music. Thank you Melody for continuing his music and honoring God and Keith.

Keith was one of the first Christian musicians I had heard of in my late teens after giving my life to Christ. His song "He Put This Love in My Heart" is a song that still stands out to me and a couple others. His music encouraged me and helped me to grow in my faith.
