Still Speaking after 31 Years in Heaven

Share Your Memories of Keith Green

Keith Green FB Share Your Memo
We want to give everyone an opportunity to share their memories of how Jesus used Keith to impact their life.  And gather all the stories in one place for everyone to enjoy.

Keith sure impacted my life.  After Jesus, he was my biggest influence.  Keith modeled giving everything to Jesus, not wanting celebrity, caring for the poor, taking people off the streets, and reaching into prisons.  We did that from the start together.

I would love to know what your story is.  How did Keith impact your life?  Were you at a concert?  Was it through the music?  Are you in ministry?  On the mission field?

How did Keith impact you, and what are you doing now that you think you might not be doing — if not for his influence?

Please share your story in the comment section below.
I’ll start!

Keith made a strong impact on my life from the first time I heard "No Compromise" . It grew even bigger when I got a flyer from a friend, where I could receive an album for whatever I could effort. I signed up for the newsletter from Last Days Ministry and got so much blessings from his teaching. I read his books and it also made great change in my life. I use to say to people that Keith, through his ministry and guided by The Holy Spirit , is one of the reasons I am Christian today. After 31 years, many of his songs still brings tears to my eyes. And I am sure its not only because of the great songs, but most because they are filled with the Spirit of God. There for the y will never be too old or too much listened to. Even my kids, also the grown ups, love Keiths music, even when they are from the seventies and eighties! How many pop/rock songs from that time is still going strong? He was also one of the few who addressed his songs to us, the Christians. And man, did/do we need it? God made a great change in my life because of His servant, living in Lindale Texas, ministering to me, over in Denmark. Actually I was there few years ago and saw your home and ministry.I still could feel the peace and loving atmosphere on the place. And was so glad that it is still used to serve God, by Teen Mania. I honor his memory and I still share about him to my friends, because he made such a deep impact in my life. God bless you Melody, for your great work.

The book No Compromise changed my life. Keith Green spent his life with no compromise. I thank the Lord Jesus that my life will reflect a no compromoise life. All I want to do is to live a no compromise life. I want people to see Jesus in me. Thank you Jesus that your name above all names will be glorified Amen

The Holy Spirit still flows through this ministry today! We are so blessed with Keith and Melody's music...and to hear God's ageless and timeless Holy Spirit still in every word and every note of each song is so comforting!

I first heard Keith's music in college while preparing to be a minister, and his music and poignant lyrics radicalized my faith! I actually met him at a concert near Pittsburgh when my college roommate was saved (I had gone forward with him since he was somewhat shy). When my wife and I were married in 1982, we moved to seminary, and shortly after that we heard the sad earthly news of Keith's death but the celebration in Heaven of his reward. His music, teachings, and example have been a blessing to me throughout my 31 years of ministry!

I grew up in a Christian home. We all loved The Lord, and our music showed that. Keith Green was part of my cassette collection of music! I would drive around with my Christian friends and listen to him as we cruised. What a message he had to share with everyone. May God bless Melody and family!

Keith Green was a powerful influence in my life, formation and ministry. I had the JOY of seeing him in concert a couple of times, the last time in that HISTORIC Jesus Festival in Brooks, OR. Unbelievable!! The day he died, I was in the emergency room attending to my sister, who had just been in a devastating car accident. When I called the church to let them know what was happening...they gave me the news about Keith and I couldn't believe it. I was stunned. But instantly the Lord brought to my mind and heart John 12:24, which I later wrote and shared with Melody. God spoke the same verse to many, many people. What a wonderful thing to be in the family of God, to walk in the Spirit, and live for eternity. I bless Melody, her family, and unite with you in a chorus of praise.

Rock-in out to Keith's music in Austin, Texas. This is really a rock in a hard place for me! For one i'm celebrating two years in "Celebrate Recovery!" Still have my ups and downs especially when dealing with my past in the gay lifestyle? I am still a work in progress! I recently had the chance to be in Lindale, Texas and the new head - quarters for Teen Mania - the old property of Last Days Ministry. I tried to re-live a little bit of my time there - just a year after the plane crash and my ICT. God is still working in mighty ways! Teen Mania has taken over the reigns in a GOOD way. I was able to see several hundred youth fired up to serve the Lord in the mission field. Keith's Spirit lives on!

I was pointed to Christ back in 1972 as a direct result of a friend giving me the music of Larry Norman and Keith Green. The music and passion of both Larry and Keith opened up my eyes to the fact that I needed Jesus in my life and needed him quickly. I accepted Jesus as a direct result of God using the music of Keith and Larry to show me that Jesus was the answer to the void I had in my life and once I accepted Him that void was filled. I never had the opportunity to meet Keith and tell him how God used him and his music to point me to Jesus. I did get to know Larry very well and were friends with him up until he went home to be with the Lord. I can only imagine the scene in heaven with Larry, Keith, Mark Heard, Dana Key and many others leading worship at the feet of our King. Still miss them all but their music and testimony live on still today!

Kieth was at his peak in his music ministry when I was a young girl. My parents and I became Christians in 1981 and Kieth's music was so prevalent in our home. I grew up listening to words of comfort, words of conviction, words of humility, and I loved every one of Kieth's words. I loved the fact that he didn't pull punches with Christians. That he held us accountable for our walks with our Lord Jesus; let us know that Christianity was not just a "Sunday thing". I grew up with those ideas in my head and I still carry them in my heart to this day. It is sad that it is so hard to find his music in stores anymore, because Kieth's music made up some of my greatest childhood memories!
