Still Speaking after 31 Years in Heaven

Share Your Memories of Keith Green

Keith Green FB Share Your Memo
We want to give everyone an opportunity to share their memories of how Jesus used Keith to impact their life.  And gather all the stories in one place for everyone to enjoy.

Keith sure impacted my life.  After Jesus, he was my biggest influence.  Keith modeled giving everything to Jesus, not wanting celebrity, caring for the poor, taking people off the streets, and reaching into prisons.  We did that from the start together.

I would love to know what your story is.  How did Keith impact your life?  Were you at a concert?  Was it through the music?  Are you in ministry?  On the mission field?

How did Keith impact you, and what are you doing now that you think you might not be doing — if not for his influence?

Please share your story in the comment section below.
I’ll start!

Keith embodied the Jesus Movement. I heard his first album, and loved it, then I heard he gave it away to those that could not afford it because the gospel is free. When he died the Jesus Movement seemed to die too. I never met him or saw him in concert, but his music was the Jesus Movement.

If you want to memorize Scripture, listen to Keith Green. So many of his songs are taken right from passages of Scripture, and that speaks volumes about his calling. God could not have chosen a more humble servant to put His words to music. Keith should be the role model for every Christian artist today.

I remember a ski trip to Mammoth where I could not stop listening to my Prodigal Son cassette tape! To this day, I play The Prodigal Son Suite in my car over and over again. The other song I cannot get enough of and will play it over and over again is The Sheep and the Goats. In both of those songs, his piano accompaniment is flawless. The song I love to sing in my own times of reflection is My Eyes Are Dry.

I had the pleasure of seeing Keith Green in person at a concert at California State University Northridge. I do not remember the year, but I will never forget the experience.

Thank you, Keith, for being a life-long impact on my life and always pointing me to my Lord, Jesus Christ.

I heard about Keith Green back in the 1980's. I was invited to a youth meeting where they played his song, " Asleep in the Light." This song impacted my life to where I ended up buying all his albums. I kept waiting to see if he was ever going to visit my hometown of El Paso, Texas to do a concert. I so badly wanted to see him in concert. Then I heard about the plane crash. I joined the Air Force where I introduced a lot of airmen to Keith's music. 30 years later, I still listen to his music. I am a basketball referee at the high school level and I always referee with his music in my mind as I run up and down the court. I can't wait to meet Keith in heaven.

The Music of Keith brought me to the foundation of the gospel.
In 2004 I've done a alcohol addict program and someone told me about the sheep and the goats. I've got a double cd, the ministry years. now I Know what matthew 25 realy means. try to live, not try to act like Jesus.
My father and his second wife where killed bij a plane crash after visiting the angel falls, my life started up at the place where the plane crashed.

Keith was the first Christian artist to impact my life towards a deeper walk with Christ. Up till then, music was just music. He turned it into powerful tool for ministry and understanding of God.

Let's just say, I have had to replace Keith's albums over the years as I have worn them out from playing them while I work. I have wept and wept repeatedly as I would hear God speak to me through Keith's music. Getting to know you has been a highlight as well and I can see why Keith married you!
Much love, Ron

I was greatly impacted by Keith's ministry and music as a young adult. His music deeply impacted my faith in God and contributed partly to my sensing God's calling to missionary service in the gospel to the lost.

I first heard Keith's music on a trip to Canada with a Church youth group. I later purchased his records and sent for "The Last Days Newsletter" (as it was called back then) I enjoyed his music and ministry all these years. I was home listening to Christian radio in 1982 when I heard the news of the plane crash. I was sad news but happy because I know that Keith went to be with Jesus. I'm glad to hear the ministry is still going.
God Bless You,

I am a worship pastor at Berean Assembly in Des Moines IA. I am 33 years old. I am so glad someone introduced me to Keith's ministry. Have everyone song, album...etc. This is what is cool. Our church was/is helping a church out in downtown Des Moines called New Life Center. We helped them out by purchasing and installing a new sound system for their auditorium. As we were installing, one of the men in the church said "You know I remember Keith Green singing on this very platform" That blew me away. The old system they had was the very original so made me think that he used that boom stand or used that mic. lol. More importantly was that he lead worship and hearts "I know" were changed by the gospel of Jesus! Even though I never met or seen Keith and I was pretty young when he went to be with the Lord, I so appreciate the legacy that he left!

My dad always played Keith's music when I was a kid, I will never forget that. When I was 18 I read "No Compromise" and that's changed me. I moves from my wild life in Seattle to a more simpler life in Boise Idaho. God is so good. I am serving the Lord and I still tell people about Keith Green and his music. Many have been saved because of Keith.

I heard Keith's music as a little girl. It had an impact on my life then, and still does every time I listen to it! I still cry tears of joy when listening! Praise The Lord for Keith's impact on this world!
